Maple Walnut Spice Cookies:
Cookies:
1 1/2 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Ginger
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Clove
1/2 C. Walnuts, Finely Chopped
3/4 C. Dark Brown Sugar, Packed
1/4 C. Butter, Softened
2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
1 Large Egg
Frosting:
1 C. Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
1 Tbsp. Milk
2 Tbsp. Butter, Softened
Yield: about 3 dozen.
Heat oven to 350º. Combine first 7 ingredients and whisk together.
In mixing bowl, beat brown sugar and butter at high speed until light and fluffy.
Add syrup and egg. Gradually beat in dry mixture.
Spoon by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool on pan for 5 minutes and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
When cool mix frosting ingredients together and frost.
Quickly sprinkle nuts on top.
